Installation

TimberTech tongue and groove will usually need a TimberTech starter strip to begin the decking.  Boards are then slipped into place by means of the tongue and groove without the use of glue or caulk.

Use 2 1/2 inch stainless steel screws. 

Leave a 3/16 inch gap between planks laid end to end, house walls and between fascia boards.

Conclusion

TimberTech is product for people who want an alternative to wood decks, for around pool decks or where low maintenance is desirable.  Still , remember composites are susceptible to mold and black mildew spots.  Usually some maintenance such as  pressure washing, bleaching,  and regular cleaning will help.
